The family is invited to spend a whole weekend in a secluded village, but as the weekend progresses, they realize that the family that invited them has a dark side. The story is inspired by the experiences of Christian Tafdrup, director of the original Danish film Speak No Evil (2022), who befriends a Dutch couple on vacation. At first they think it’s a new way to bond with their new home, but as the film progresses, the perspective slowly changes and makes you wonder if they’ll ever recover from the horrible things they’ve seen so far, which adds a level. clarity and fear in the film’s dark tone, and that’s a very good thing. Acting wise, in a very top-tier Blumhouse movie these days, James McAvoy is really quite terrifying, but funny at the same time. He is very much the same.

He reminds me of Jack Torrance from The Shining, a very manic and twisted character with comedic elements sprinkled in, I thought that was quite an interesting thing to pick up on, but I think it was a bit different with Paddy, if only because his charm. Overall, while this thriller is a pretty solid entry in the Blumhouse library, the fatal flaw is the lack of respect for the original film, which should definitely be respected. , but this post seems to completely avoid some aspects that shouldn’t be redone unless there’s a good reason to do so.
