Having seen it, I’m not sure either
It certainly starts by making him seem more human than perhaps he or some media outlets have done in recent years… How he’s changed as a result of learning from Roy Cohn and money and power is certainly a theme… The scenes of him in the 80s that look grainy like 80s TV are a nice touch…
and how they’re developed throughout the film
If I have one criticism (which is why I gave it a 7) it’s that the screenwriter doesn’t seem to know how to end it… But it’s worth watching just to see how well Donald Trump, Roy Cohn and Ivana Trump are portrayed… Check out our list of interesting new films from this year’s film festivals, including Venice, TIFF, the New York Film Festival and more.
